The Building Societies Association is the voice of the UK's building societies.
Debbie will join the organisation on 1 September 2023.
The Building Societies Association is pleased to announce that Debbie Enever has been appointed Head of External Affairs, and will join the organisation on 1 September 2023. Debbie succeeds Hilary McVitty, who held the role for 12 years until her recent retirement.
Debbie has over twenty years of experience in policy, stakeholder engagement and communications roles, most recently as Head of External Relations for the Financial Ombudsman Service, spending the last nine months on secondment to the Financial Conduct Authority. Previously Debbie worked in Westminster for the Liberal Democrat Party.
The Head of External Affairs role will see Debbie champion the BSA’s members and wider financial mutuals as a key part of the UK’s current and future financial services sector.
“We are delighted to welcome Debbie to the Building Societies Association and our senior leadership team. Her skills and expertise will be of great value in leading our external relations strategy, and I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”
“I’m really excited to be joining the Building Societies Association. I’ve always been a supporter and advocate of the mutual model and am particularly looking forward to enthusiastically promoting it through the media, to political audiences and with other key opinion formers.”
